Your game. Your choices.
Privacy policy
Effective and last updated: October 28, 2026
This policy covers Free the Duck! for iPhone and iPad and playfreetheduck.com, operated by Mustard Seed Software LLC (“we,” “us”). For privacy questions, contact info@playfreetheduck.com.
The short version: your progress is saved on your device. Apple handles Game Center. Google processes information to provide in-app ads when ads are enabled. We do not require a separate Free the Duck! account, and this website has no advertising or analytics scripts.
Some features are still in development or use test services. The sections below describe the information used when those features are available in your version.
1. Game information saved on your device
The game stores progress, rescued ducks, Coins, hint credits, settings, personal bests, Daily results and level plans on your device. It also stores video reward history and ad timing to prevent duplicate rewards, enforce daily limits and space out ads. We do not receive this local save as a player profile on our own server.
Your device and Apple backup settings may include app data in backups. Uninstalling the app removes its local data from that device; restoring a device or backup may restore it. Exported files and information held by Apple or Google are separate from the local save.
2. Game Center
If you use Apple Game Center, the game accesses your Game Center player identity and display name and sends eligible Daily completion times and a level/date identifier to Apple. Leaderboards may show your Game Center name, rank and score to other players. Apple manages Game Center accounts and its own processing of that information under Apple’s privacy policy.
You can manage your Game Center account and profile in your device settings. You can play campaign puzzles without submitting a Game Center score.
3. In-app advertising and video rewards
When ads are enabled, the game uses Google AdMob and Google’s User Messaging Platform to load ads, handle privacy choices, prevent fraud and measure ad performance. Ads may appear between completed levels. You can also choose to watch a rewarded video for Coins.
Google’s advertising software may process your IP address, approximate location derived from it, device or app identifiers, device and app information, ad interactions, performance and diagnostic information. This can happen with test ads as well as live ads. Non-personalized ads still require some data processing and may use local storage.
The current game configuration requests non-personalized ads, disables publisher personalization and does not request permission to track you across other companies’ apps and websites through Apple’s tracking prompt. These settings do not mean the advertising software collects no information. We do not send your local puzzle plans, Coin balance or rescued-duck collection to Google as an advertising profile.
Where required, a Google consent message lets you make choices before ads are requested. When available, you can reopen those choices through Settings → Ads and privacy → Privacy choices. Ad availability can depend on your choices and region; optional video rewards require an available ad and its earned-reward confirmation.
See Google’s privacy policy, how Google uses information from apps that use its services, and Google’s ad controls for more information.
4. Sharing solutions and recordings
When you choose to export or share a solution, the file includes the level and gameplay instructions needed to reproduce it, such as weapon choices, ammo order and gun hold/resume events. A shared recording shows the gameplay captured in the video. Recipients and the apps you choose for sharing receive that content and handle it under their own policies.
We do not automatically upload your solution files or recordings to a Free the Duck! service. Avoid sharing content you do not want others to keep or forward. Online community publishing and a developer-hosted replay service are not currently enabled.
5. This website and support email
This website is hosted on Microsoft Azure. Delivering and securing a page requires Microsoft to process technical request information such as an IP address, browser information and requested URL. We do not add analytics, advertising scripts, third-party fonts or tracking cookies to this website. Microsoft’s practices are described in the Microsoft privacy statement.
If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you send. We use them to answer your request, troubleshoot issues and maintain necessary business records. Please do not send passwords or unnecessary sensitive information. Our email provider also processes the message to deliver and store it.
6. Sharing, retention and security
We do not sell your local game save or support correspondence. Apple, Google, Microsoft and our email provider process information for the services described above. Service providers may process data outside your country. We may disclose information when necessary to comply with law or protect people, our services or legal rights.
Local game data remains until removed from your device or replaced by the game. We keep support correspondence for as long as needed to address the request and meet legitimate business or legal obligations, then delete it when no longer needed. Apple and Google control retention of information in their respective services. We use reasonable safeguards, but no service can guarantee absolute security.
7. Your choices and privacy requests
You can decline optional rewarded videos, manage Game Center through Apple, remove the app’s local data by uninstalling it, and change available ad consent choices within the game. Removing the app does not delete exported copies, device backups or records held by third-party services.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of personal information, or to object to or limit certain processing. Email info@playfreetheduck.com with your request. We may need information to verify it and will respond as applicable law requires. For information controlled by Apple or Google, their privacy tools and support channels may be needed. You may also have the right to complain to your local privacy regulator.
8. Children
Free the Duck! is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the game or its services change. We will post the revised policy here with an updated date and provide any additional notice required for material changes. New features that use data differently will require a policy review before they are enabled.
